The Queen’s Chronicles: MOTHER EARTH DAY EVERY DAY

Earth and woman share a correspondence of function, a facility for creativity and abundance, a worldly wisdom. Each is primary and potent. Even in appearance, are they the same. Just as the roundness of the earth and Her cyclical seasons resonate in every woman, the surface shapes and internal configurations of the earth are defined by the physical attributes of the female physique.

The soil, smoothly moist and rich, arid, cracked and parched, is Her skin; and the lush foliage, the fuzzy moss, the spindled grasses, are Her many splendid tresses. The trees are arms, legs, limbs, which reach out and dance in all directions. The roots, feet firm on the ground. Gems and crystalline minerals make Her strong skeletal system; and the rivers, creeks and streams are the blood that flows through Her veins.

The air is Her hot breath, Her holy exhalation. The seeds of plants are Her sacred monthly flow. Her pregnant belly is indicated in the rounded hills and Her mountainous breasts swell all the way to the sky. The valleys reflect the soft shapes of Her cradling elbows and comforting lap. The ocean is Her womb, the saline-rich source of all life. Rock clefts like labia, and vulvic caves are passageways into Her cavernous interior; the power of Her hallowed deep places, palpable.

Mother Earth, Mother Nature, has Her moods as well as any woman might. Her emotions, like the weather, are mutable and span the full spectrum. She rainbow-glows, radiant in health and beauty. She twinkles like the stars; sparkles with good humor. She grows overcast, gets dark, oblique, breezy and cool. She weeps with dew. She simmers and hisses on slow burn. She vents her steam. She quakes in anger. She rumbles and grumbles and tears the house down. She sparks, bursts, erupts, explodes, implodes in passion. She can be gentle, generous, humorous, dependable, destructive and very, very scary. Hell, indeed, hath no fury like an earthy woman scorned.

Mother Earth, universally worshipped as the fertile, female provider, protector and parent, was always treated with great dignity and care. Cultivated fields were left to rest one year in seven lest they become worn out with the never ending work of producing food, and wars were routinely put on hold during the planting season. Woman was cherished as the incarnate daughter of the Great Cosmic Queen, because she embodied the same supreme capability of life. Her natural understanding was held in esteem, and her body, its terrestrial contours reminiscent of those of Mother Earth, was respected. Once upon a time, that is.

A rather bizarre form of pornography, known as pornotopia, was produced during the Victorian period in England. Mother Earth was personified as a voluptuous female landscape laid bare to the voyeuristic viewing pleasure of man who surveys the scene before him from the perspective of a fly promenading upon Her full-figured splendor. Her hills and caves, rises and recesses, were described in somewhat smarmy terms which were meant to elicit the fascinating, fearsome, forbidden Oedipal fantasy of a man mounting his own mother in lust. Where in the past, the Earth had once been revered, She was here reviled, defiled, desecrated. Stripped bare of Her powers, She was reduced to a passive sexual object, sacked and soiled.

Today the body of the Earth, our first mother, is routinely bruised and abused. Raped and burned; dug and dammed; dynamited and nuked. As many as one hundred distinct species of plants and animals are disappearing from existence each day, directly or indirectly due to human domination. And the bodies of women everywhere fare no better.

How in the world did The Good Earth — the very material (from the Latin, mater, meaning, “mother”) of life itself — get to be a dirty word? Or Mutha, for that matter? According to the esteemed Oxford English Dictionary, dirt means, “grime,” “stain,” “smut.” Dirty is “lewd,” “defiled,” “contaminated,” “dingy,” “unsanitary,” “filthy,” “polluted,” “foul.” Not one mention of dirt as the flesh of the Goddess, as the source of the nutrients that nourish us, as the bosom of the Mother that will cradle us when we die. How did it come to pass that the Earth Mother whose grace we depend upon for absolutely everything has become so thoroughly sullied? And more important, how can we repair the damage?

We can begin by commemorating Earth Day in Her honor. Since 1971, Earth Day has been celebrated to remind the people of the world of the need for continuing care which is vital to Earth’s safety and our own. The vernal equinox was originally chosen as the official date to honor Earth for its symbolism — equilibrium and balance — in order to encourage and inspire a universal sense of interdependence, cooperation, and unity. Now we celebrate it on April 22, which has, heretofore, been Arbor Day.

The vernal equinox calls on all mankind to recognize and respect Earth’s beautiful systems of balance, between the presence of animals on land, the fish in the sea, birds in the air, mankind, water, air, and land. Most importantly there must always be awareness of the actions by people that can disturb this precious balance.

- Margaret Mead

On Earth Day the United Nations Peace Bell is rung to initiate a moment of global equipoise when people worldwide can join in a renewed heartfelt commitment to the protection and care of our planet. The United Nations Earth Day event is the centerpiece of an annual global holiday that strives to awaken a common objective of local and global harmony with nature and neighbors.

The original Earth Day proclamation states, “All individuals and institutions have a mutual responsibility to act as Trustees of Earth, seeking the choices in ecology, economics, and ethics that will eliminate pollution, poverty, and violence; foster peaceful progress; awaken the wonder of life; and realize the best potential for the future of the human adventure.”

Last month, two billion people worldwide participated in Earth Hour by turning off their lights as a visual demonstration of the dramatic difference made possible by each individual coupled with the efforts of others. But one hour, one day is barely a beginning. Let one hour, one day inspire two, twenty, two hundred. Let every day be Earth Day.

There is no social-change fairy. There is only change made by the hands of individuals.

As Spiritual beings encased in physical bodies, we walk, work, rest, love on a small planet third from the sun in a solar system existing as a part of a universe we cannot fathom and which, at present, we are unable to physically visit. Our bodies are sustained by the generous gifts of water, air, and foods that the Earth provides us. Like a benevolent Mother, she tends to us in many ways, some of which are often hidden from our awareness. Her trees share messages of wisdom culled from ancient experiences. Her rocks and crystals show us how it is to live vibrantly in a seemingly static form. Her rivers, lakes, and oceans not only provide the necessary water we drink, but they move our thoughts from the mundane and bathe our minds with cleansing movement, removing our angst and bringing us peace as we watch them ebb and flow around us, reminding us of our own ebbs and flows. Mother Earth, too, is part of the spiritual as well as physical reality in which we live.

I remember as a child lying on the grass in my backyard and looking up at the clouds floating overhead on a blue ocean of sky. I would press my back into the Earth and feel the vibrations reaching up and surrounding me, cradling me as I lay there feeling the Earth thrumming with life and love. I would close my eyes and could almost sense the movement of the planet within the great sea of the universe.

Now, many years later, I sometimes walk around and become aware of these same sensations. But now, I am also keenly aware of the relationship we have with Mother Earth and the need to protect her as much as she protects us. We have made great strides in recent years of cleaning the pollution we, as inhabitants of this wondrous planet, created by our presence here. In a time when there is talk of reverting back to practices that threatened our eco-systems and, thus, our very beings, we need to become ever more vigilant of our individual responsibilities for maintaining the planet as pollutant free as possible for our own survival. We can each do our part by, for example, recycling, reusing, and repurposing what we use. We can make sure our legislators hear our voices demanding a clean environment in which to live.

Just as Mother Earth strives to nurture us, we need to gratefully receive that nurturing and act as responsible stewards of our planet. So long as we continue to incarnate here, we must strive to ensure that the physical bodies we inhabit live in awareness of the interconnectedness of all things and live accordingly with empathy, compassion, light, and love.

I spent so long thinking that I just had to live the life that I have been dealt — sad, self-conscious, anxious, and lonely–that these things became the truth of who I was.

Then, they became the lens through which I saw people not emailing me back, or not including me, or bullying me. I saw the world as being out of my control, and this made me feel very vulnerable and intensely anxious.

Several years ago, a dear friend stopped talking to me. Just stopped. And even though I understood why logically, it didn’t save my heart from the pain of it. In my grief, all my losses from the past compounded that suffering. And when people leave you, you tend to blame yourself, with these loss memories came the recollection of all the idiotic things I’ve done that made people not like the big fat loser that I am.

It was overwhelming.

The months after this loss, I cried a lot. A lot. A lot. I felt like I lost part of myself. It took a while to realize the opportunity. This wound, and the opening of old wounds, was an invitation to heal this part of myself that felt unworthy of friendships. Hurt is a preparation to heal. Like the highly intense person I am, I embraced it.

Sometimes it is through this kind of desperation that you begin to search for the light. It was time that I figured out this thing called life. First, I had to focus on what I can control and let go of what I could not.

Boy, I had a lot of letting go to do! I felt the pain of all of it fully, and over time, peeled one layer off and then another. And that kernel of self-love grew and grew as I began to trust myself and find my power.

I decided that I was going to create my life – make my own rules for life, rather than stay feeling powerless and vulnerable.

To do this, I distinguished and followed these five simple rules that I want to share in this video today.

Rules to Live By

1. Practice doing hard things
2. Make people important
3. Step back
4. Take risks
5. Be creative

You are amazing and beautiful and worthy!

You deserve a good life. Don’t sit around and wait until it happens. Make it happen. Find your power and generate happiness.

What are your rules for life?

This Blog is for people who wish to learn how to use a very simple, yet powerful and effective spiritual tool every day the rest of your life.  It will lessen the stress and fear of life in general, and will make your life easier.  It’s so simple a lot of people say “It can’t be this easy,” but it is, because IT WORKS!

This reconnects you with your Guardian Angel, or higher power, or whatever your belief is.  You simply say, “I request a Most Benevolent Outcome for… thank you!”  When you read the stories below, sent from all over the world, we use the acronyms MBO for Most Benevolent Outcomes, GA for Guardian Angel, and BP for Benevolent Prayers (what you ask for other people).   My website is

Here are some MBO’s that people report to Tom:

Laura writes:  Good Grief. I MBO everything. From a lost wallet showing up this week, a lost earring, an answer to a lost memory and for everyone and everything I come across. I seriously need to find ways to give back because I AM the biggest beggar and the most Blessed. I Love and Thank you Tom for teaching us about how MBO’s work!

Rikki writes:   I have one — well my roomie did anyhow — we asked a BP for the return of lost keys — the next day they showed up in another lady’s car — she said she would NEVER have looked under the car seat — but something kind of told her too — yup, there were the keys that cost money to replace — like a mailbox key — ya know!! Thank You.

Susan writes:  It’s been a while since we have emailed each other and I have another MBO story for you!

My daughter had had a crush on a boy since she was 13. His name is Austin.  About five years ago when she was 16 she read on Facebook that he changed his status to single. She was delighted! I told her to do an MBO about him. So she did and they have been together ever since!

The funny thing is that we moved from Georgia to Florida and then back to Georgia and she has lived within walking distance of him all three places! It just turned out that way! He broke up with her because he and his mother were moving to Florida and we actually were moving there too to establish residence for prepaid college plan we purchased for my son when he was little.  The college happened to be exactly where they were moving to and a realtor showed us the last house they had available in our range just a block from where they had found a house!

Then Austin and his mother didn’t like it and wanted to move back and I moved back to be with my boyfriend and my daughter moved back to live with her dad and all at the same time, and they ended up living again by some unintentional act a few blocks from each other.  They are still going strong!

Another thing I say that works for me that is like an MBO is the following saying which is found on Access Consciousness. “What energy space and consciousness can I be that will allow me to have total clarity and ease with all this? Anything that does not show up I now destroy and I create it.  Right and wrong, good and bad, pod and poc, all shorts boys and beyond.”

It has worked for me tremendously!! Especially when it’s a complicated matter.

I have used this and MBOs to get a house last year I thought I would never qualify for!  It’s was my first house!  Also my relationship with my partner of 11 years had a rocky time last year and is better than ever now!  The perfect healing of my frozen shoulder. Full recovery of a knee injury.

Again thank you for all you do!

Springwater Center is located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Western New York, an hour south of Rochester. Situated on over 200 acres of soft rolling hills, the land has quiet trails wandering through open meadows, wide vistas, and secluded hardwood forests. Streams cascade through shaded ravines, and a lovely pond with benches is situated on a hillside with striking views of the valley below.

Retreat Center

In the heart of this land is a 12,000 square foot retreat center. The building has 14 guest rooms, a large kitchen and dining area, and a beautiful and spacious sitting room which accommodates up to 45 people. The building also has a library, solarium, and an outdoor area with lovely views for sitting and eating. All meals are vegetarian. The Center is maintained by a full-time staff.

Springwater Center was founded in 1981 by Toni Packer, whose body of work includes five books and an extensive library of recorded talks and dialogues. Trained in Zen Buddhism and chosen by Roshi Philip Kapleau to succeed him at the Rochester Zen Center, Toni was drawn to leave the traditional forms of Buddhism to work with the essence of meditative practice — attending to what is happening within and without, in the immediacy of each moment.

Over the years, Springwater Center has developed into a large and lively community, open to people of all faiths and meditative traditions. Without hierarchy and dogma, people feel free to come here to meditate in deep silence, and to inquire and share with one another their insights, questions, and difficulties.

Springwater Center is an ideal place for individual solitary retreats, or to visit when there is a need for open space and quiet. Overnight accommodations are available in the main building, and there is also a retreat cabin in the woods. It is possible to come either as a guest, with reasonable room rates and delicious prepared food, or as a volunteer, in which one participates in the regular work schedule of the center in exchange for lodging and food. See Visiting for more.

Living here on Earth gives you the opportunity to strive to develop all your talents and learn new skills - this is why you are here. You are not here to do "nothing", but to learn to do everything. And you have the time to do this…at least you did up until now. Now you only have the time to wake up quickly, and gather your wits about you, and start taking responsibility for changing what you allowed to be created. Start taking part in your community activities and forums and local governments, and start standing up and speaking on behalf of your rights and the rights of other life forms to live in peace and abundance. Start taking responsibility for others. You still can stop all this. It just takes a majority of people to align their consciousness to topple the current regimes of darkness. It just takes all the people to come together in consciousness to break the spell…and then it is over.

We give you this advice, because in our long life spans here, we have seen it all. Because of your short life spans, you have been unable to see it all…you have not been able to see even a small part of it. Your lives hang on a thread - a thread of awareness that you can either strengthen or snap. Unbelief in what you see occurring around you will snap the thread, and you will become unconscious and a willing slave.

It is so crucial that you all wake up now to this game of folly. From our vantage point, we can see that no one wants to play anymore, but you are so mesmerized that you cannot stop. It is like you are caught in glue and can't pull yourself away. Well, we will help you. All the kingdoms are aware of each and every one of you, and we will help you if you just call on us. The more you call on us and the more you become aware of us, the more of our consciousness we can share with you. As you merge with us, we become a greater forcefield of Light, and your consciousness expands exponentially until you can finally see through to the Light, and know instantly what you are to do to save your race. This we offer you.

So start walking among us, talking and communing with us, touching and embracing us, sitting under our boughs and lying under our branches. Our strength will then come up and permeate you and you will feel our connectiveness and become alive with our strength and vitality and encompass our awareness and merge with our consciousness and then, voila, we are ONE, and no one can imprison you again. We live in the Light - and we live on Light. By uniting with us you can free yourselves from your chains of density. It is only in density that you can be prisoners. Do you understand this? Good day.

We ELEMENTALS understood this eons ago; this is why our evolution has excelled beyond yours. We want to unite with you also because we, too, can show you the way to free your souls from the darkness surrounding you. But the pre-requisite is to unite with us and to recognize us as part of your family, your brothers and sisters of Light who have come here to experience life with you and to join with you now so that we can all work together to bring Earth into her ascension.

There is no time to lose. This has been a closed system, and it is time to bust it wide open so that we can all move into the next higher octave of existence, where all of life awaits us. This is your WAKE UP CALL. All the Kingdoms are calling you to wake up out of your deep sleep of the ages. For new ages are about to burst forth into a glorious future for human kind…so join with us now. Good day.

We are the NATURE SPIRITS, and our hearts are filled with love for humanity. We are the FAERIES, SPRITES, and DEVAS who grace your lawns and live in your Trees and walk beside you when you are outdoors in Nature. And being outdoors is the key. The more you are outdoors, the more you come in contact with us and the sooner you can begin to feel our presence. For feeling our presence will bring you into our presence, where you can then begin consciously connecting with us through your heart.

Once you are conscious of us, our merging begins and our hearts intertwine into the one heart of Creation. This oneness creates a vast portal that will speed our ascent and more rapidly propel us all into the next octave of Light…. that you call "ascension".  See you there!

Why would someone want to make an appointment with an Energy Healer?

I’ve been told, and I believe, that a human life on Earth can be one of the most difficult and most rewarding lives that a soul can choose to experience.  We have seemingly endless choices of roles, relationships, education, and activites.  I think that the more challenging our life experiences are, the more we grow at the soul level.  Even though I believe we need to do our own work as we evolve - Dang! - it’s hard sometimes!  So we learn how to reach out to each other to give and receive support.

People who are brave enough to call themselves Healers have made a commitment to study various methods of sharing positive energy.  They make heart-to-heart connections with clients, sharing an intention of bringing healing on all levels.  The flow of healing energy can have limitless positive effects mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I would call Reiki my healing “Home Base.”  I work with additional energy tools but use them to build on the basic Universal Lifeforce Healing Energy.  Before a session I tell my clients that at the very least they will feel a warm, kind, and gentle touch.  At the wonderous end of the spectrum of experiences; bones have shifted, surgeries have been averted, migraines have diminished, and hearts have been opened.  Although no outcome is ever guaranteed, everything is possible.  As clients and Healers work together we always intend for the most amazing outcome and the Highest Good!

There have been many studies and personal reports about the positive effects Reiki healing can have for folks.  Reiki is a complementary treatment working well with traditional medicine and other modalities.  It offers additional energy that can be used for the body to heal itself.  Reiki will always flow wherever it is needed.

Physically Reiki:

Offers stress relief, relaxation
It accelerates the bodie's self-healing abilities and supports the immune system
Aids better sleep
Reduces blood pressure
Can help with acute injuries by slowing blood flow and speeding healing,
Helps with chronic problems (asthma, eczema, chronic fatigue, etc.)
Helps relieve pain especially from migraines, sciatica, cramps
Removes energy blockages, adjusts the energy flow of the endocrine system bringing the body into more balance and harmony,
Assists the body in cleaning itself from toxins,
Increases mobility in case of shoulder pain, wrist pain, lower back pain.
Increases vitality

Reiki speeds up recovery from surgery or long-term illness. It helps in adjusting to medicine/treatment, and also tends to reduce side-effects. In a study published in the journal Integrative Cancer Therapy, researchers reported that various cancer patients treated with Reiki experienced significantly decreased tiredness, pain, and anxiety, and improved quality of life.  1

New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Campus conducted one of the first studies ever performed to determine the effectiveness of Reiki treatments on the autonomic nervous system. The results within the Reiki treatment group showed a lowering of heart rate, respiration, and blood pressure. 2

An interesting study published in the journal Evidence Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine which compared the effectiveness of improving range of motion through physical therapy and Reiki, found that both showed the same effect in improving the range of motion (ROM) of the affected part. 3

One intriguing finding reported in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine showed a similar result with Reiki. A patient was treated for Hepatitis C. The side effect of the treatment was anaemia and neutropenia (severe deficiency of neutrophils, a type of white blood cell, leading to susceptibility to infection). Reiki therapy was administered to him to relieve anxiety and to enhance his sense of well-being. The doctors also noted that his neutrophil count and hematocrit improved significantly, which in turn improved bone marrow function. The patient was infection-free even after one year of treatment. 4

Reiki also balances the mind and emotions. Regular Reiki treatments can help bring a calmer and more peaceful state of being, in which a person is better able to cope with everyday stress. This mental balance also enhances learning, memory and mental clarity. In more severe situations, Reiki can help alleviate mood swings, fear, frustration, anxiety, depression, and anger.  Because Reiki enhances your capacity to love, it can open you up to the people around you and help your relationships grow. By improving your capacity for empathy, Reiki allows you to connect with people on a deeper level.  During times of emotional distress like the grieving process it can help soften the experience and aid in healing.

Spiritually Reiki helps bring about inner peace and harmony. It can be a valuable tool in the quest for spiritual growth.  The quiet flow of energy can stimulate creativity, help you open to insights and inspiration.

Part of your soul path in this life may be to help a Healer walk their soul path by offering their services to you.  We all need help and support in our lives.  Look for an Energy Healer or modality that you feel drawn to.  Ask questions, seek referrals, make investments of time and money in experiencing some sessions that may help you live your healthiest life.  Most Energy Healing is simply Love in Action.  This circle of sharing and receiving healing love and light helps make Humaning a little easier!

The Third Planet

When you see the green mountains,
And feel the lush valleys,
Know that they're all yours.
Cherish them; the more you will,
The more you'll be thankful,
For the time you spent between them.

As you look over the blue waters of the ocean,
Remember to smile.
Look out for the fish swimming.
Embrace this beauty,
See it all,
For all it is ours and ours only.

When you look upon the shining stars,
Be eager to know how they were made.
Learn about space and time.
Treasure the grace of the burning orbs,
And then create a connection,
For they resemble your love.

As you peer onto the grassy plains,
Look out for the mighty lion.
It has a better eye than you do
And a roar mightier than you've ever heard.
If your eyes ever get a chance,
Glance toward the sky,
For it shows what we've got.

This is not all;
The beauty on Earth is widespread.
Learn to respect it,
And it'll embrace you instead.

In Thomas Moore’s book “Care of the Soul” he presents this question; “How do we bring soul back into life? How can we partake in our ordinary life … and still be mindful and care for the soul’s deepest needs and purpose?”  What a great question! When setting goals and making decisions in our life, do we seriously consider the soul’s longing and desire for growth, transformation, renewal, connection and true intimacy?

We usually set goals based on what we can gain. We make decisions about what to get rid of or what to strive for in an effort to feel safe and complete. Setting goals and making decisions as a way to care for the soul is quite different. It requires a close look at what is needed to move the soul toward spiritual intimacy – a profound, intimate knowing of Self, others and God.

To live a soulful life we must pay attention to our deepest desires and our greatest fears.

Too often we equate desire with ego and fear with the soul’s way to keep us on track. As long as we are honoring the soul’s pull toward spiritual intimacy, we can trust the desire and question the fear.  How is this done?

First remember that movement from the soul most likely will involve change: cleaning out the old, allowing a new experience, a new relationship or a circumstance that will speed along our progress.  How do we know when movement is required? Pay attention to desires, impulses, and attractions.  These are like magnets drawing you toward what the soul wants and needs in order to thrive.

Yes, discernment is necessary to determine if the attraction is the ego’s insatiable appetite to get something, run from something or possess something. But do not automatically assume that desire is a four letter word.

I use to be closed to the possibility that desire and attraction are from the soul. I assumed that it was the ego trying to distract me from God. Whenever I felt a pull to learn something new, post writings to a larger audience, express a thought that was contrary to the “norm”; I pushed it down. I believed it was the ego’s desire for grandiosity or to be right or make others wrong. This created stagnant energy. I felt the desire and then stuffed it, believing that in doing so I was staying true to the soul. This state of stagnation became intolerable. I finally asked, “What am I denying within myself that wants to be noticed?”

I then had a series of three dreams. In each dream I am sharing with others something I am passionate about. I feel alive, joyful and light. I am not worried about what people will say, or how the message might be judged. I am completely free. Others are happy to hear the message and express gratitude for how much it is helping them. I awake feeling like I had just been released from prison. What a beautiful way to encourage me to fully embrace the desires I had and to trust that any attraction to express is a way to care for myself and others.

Do you feel a tug or pull toward something, someone; somewhere? Do you notice a longing for an experience? Are you honoring the attraction or having an adverse reaction to it (or maybe ignoring it completely)?

Do not discount this gentle call to be aware of what is stirring within your heart.

Pay attention to what attracts you. Notice your desires. Contemplate if this is the soul trying to get your attention.  If you feel closed off to that inner yearning or wonder if it is a directive from the soul, consider using your dreams to clarify what best serves you at this time.

When you ask, keep in mind that care of the soul sometimes involves a good spring cleaning. Often we can feel a desire or attraction to something, and then hit an obstacle of fear.

This is a sign to look closer at the fear, not deny the desire!

This is illustrated in a dream I had.  I am told something new is coming. I am so happy. The next scene I am in my kitchen. I begin clearing out a kitchen cupboard. I place rusted pots and pans on the table.  My roommate asks, “What are you doing?”  I reply, “I am going on to something new. But first I need to clean this out completely.” I turn and look at the empty cabinet. With a feeling of complete satisfaction, I know that I am now ready.

How can we attract the experience our soul desires when huge boulders block its entry into our life?  It is our outdated, worn out ideas and ways of being that are in the way.  Remaining open to the energy of attraction is only part of caring for the soul. We must also look at and clean out what keeps us stuck.

Warning:  patience is required!

Like mice nibbling at a large rope, each nibble weakening it until the rope breaks or like the wind gently moving past the mountain, over time whittling away the rock until it looks different; our movement toward spiritual intimacy happens in the same way.

Step by step, choice by choice. Uprooting old patterns and beliefs, weeding out what no longer serves, flowing with the changes that help us expand our beliefs and experience our true nature; all are ways to care for the soul.

Don’t be discouraged. Look for signs of progress.

How has the constant movement of the wind been working in your life? How much more open are you to true intimacy? How many obstacles have been removed? Do you fear and doubt less? Trust more? Have you glimpsed your true nature? If the answer is yes to any one of these questions, than you have been caring for the soul.

Where does your soul want to take you next?

“With great power comes great responsibility…”

Every Marvel Comics fan knows this quote describes the life lesson of Peter Parker, who in his early Spider-Man days felt the unintended but dire consequences of his super-hero actions.  This phrase can also apply to both sides of the psychic-medium reading table…to the one receiving the information and the one providing it.

In his book, “Infinite Quest” John Edward states right up front the need to recognize the power of words, spoken under any title or intention, and to “put the book down” if there is any reason other than providing pure service when sharing psychic abilities and information.  Paul Rees, Director at the Accolade Academy of Psychic-Medium Studies also teaches in his workshops that the moment psychic information is shared with another, whether professionally, to a friend or the man-on-the-street, the welfare of the receiver is paramount.  TV’s “psychic on the street” readings is a misconception. Permission is always in play but is just behind the scenes in these types of shows.  In our workshops, we share the same message and say “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” and teach the ethics and responsibilities of the reading as well as the reader.

The definition, service and role of the today’s psychic-medium is changing with the times...from a mysterious voice of foreboding to the empowering service of validated information.  Science is recognizing the energy of conscious thought and our relationship to it. From that perspective, the dogma and fears of an “earth-is-flat” understanding fall away. When you take the “old age” out of new age, the contemporary psychic medium can then get past the love-and-light platitudes, soul contracts, spirit guides, dark energy attachments, Indigo (etc.) Child indicators and fortune-telling instructions and strive to get to the authentic information today’s client is looking for. In other words, spiritual beliefs alone do not add value to the reading…they color it.

People will seek guidance, support and healing from many sources such as medical professionals, counselors, therapists and clergy. People will also seek out a psychic-medium for the same reasons.  It’s easy for a psychic-medium to say: “I will not diagnose nor prescribe…” and understand the medical boundaries of that ethic.  However, the lines blur when it comes to advising someone on their life challenges and cross into the expertise of the licensed professional.  But like the licensed social worker, counselor or therapist, the reader must be as judicious in their interpretation and delivery of information received. Here is where the great power of great responsibility comes in…to realize the consequences of words shared during a reading.

The power of great responsibility is the tenet of the contemporary psychic-medium. Whether under the guise of guides, angels, channeled beings or grandma, information from Higher Consciousness works under the Universal Law of Unconditional Love and never…never…never harms, inhibits or sorrows. “I just have to tell you what Spirit is telling me” is the ego-driven error of the inexperienced reader and does not supersede asking for permission and the accountability to the client.

To the other side of the table…the receiver of information...the power of great responsibility still applies. In this world of easily accessed information, from scientific research to personal-opinion blog posts, it is a person’s responsibility to evaluate the great power of that information.  Information shared by a psychic medium should validate what you know, provide comfort and healing of a loved one’s words, or offer perspective and empowerment in taking your own step forward to a better you. One cannot hide behind what a psychic, spirit guide or channeled-being said…it ultimately comes down to personal free will and choice.

To the psychic-medium…know your information. To the client/receiver…know your reader and substantiate the information for yourself. With great power of information comes the great responsibility of ownership and accountability…from both sides of the reader’s table.
