The Garrison Institute was founded on the belief that action in the world is more compassionate and more effective when infused with the wisdom and skill cultivated in contemplative practices. Overlooking the Hudson River in a beautifully renovated former Capuchin monastery, the Institute convenes and supports those who are exploring the wisdom, values and insight gained through contemplative practices to catalyze personal and social transformation.

The mission of the Garrison Institute is to demonstrate and disseminate the importance of contemplative practices and spiritually grounded values in building sustainable movements for a healthier, safer, and more compassionate world. Working collaboratively with practitioners in diverse fields, the Institute develops and hosts retreats and symposia, produces research and publications, and provides a hub for ongoing learning networks.

How can not-doing have value? We are a country where activity is increasingly fostered and promoted. Our public places often have a TV blaring. If there is silence, most pick up their cell phones. “Not-doing” is different from activities that may be considered down time, like watching TV, surfing the Internet, or engaging in some recreational activity. It means taking the time to “just be.” What a shocking concept! Wallace Shawn in My Dinner with Andre certainly thinks so:

[In the workshops you did] you were trying to discover what it would be like to live for certain moments without having any particular thing that you were supposed to be doing . . . And I think I just simply object to that. I just don’t think I accept the idea that there should be moments in which you’re not trying to do anything. I think it is our nature to do things . . . I mean, if I’m sitting at home and I have nothing to do, well, I naturally reach for a book. I mean, what would be so great about sitting there and doing nothing? It seems absurd.

Wally doesn’t realize that his continual doing prevents him from experiencing many wonders of life. If the sun doesn’t go down, you cannot see the stars. If you don’t stop your doing, you might not be able to “see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower,” as William Blake puts it.

Here are some more examples of how “not-doing” can enhance your life and the lives of those around you:

Being in the Flow

There is a deeper level of “doing” than all your ceaseless activity, called wu-wei in the Taoist tradition and translated as non-ego or spontaneous action. You probably have experienced wu-wei during peak moments when playing a musical instrument, writing a poem, or engaging in sports. It’s a wonderful feeling when the mind stops and the action flows harmoniously and perfectly. As soon as you think, I’m doing great at this, the flow ceases and you make a mistake. During wu-wei, something deeper takes over and does a better job. Wu-wei happens more frequently when you letting go of you incessant doing.

Loving Presence

Rather than thinking you need to be active all the time, you may want to consider being a healing or loving presence in the world. The last in a series of Zen Oxherding Pictures, which depict the spiritual journey, is titled “Entering the Market Place with Helping Hands.” After achieving a state of oneness, the Buddha simply goes shopping. The accompanying verse reads:

Barechested, barefooted, he comes into the market place.
Muddied and dust-covered, how broadly he grins.
                Without recourse to mystic powers,
withered trees he swiftly brings to bloom.

Just going about his daily activities in a peaceful, centered way, the Buddha transforms his environment. A spiritually developed priest I know would enter a hospital room and all the monitors attached to the patient would return to their normal rhythms. You might not be a Buddha or a spiritually developed person, but you can be a healing presence to those around you.

Think about it. Your presence is more important than speaking when someone is ill or going through a difficult time. I’m sure you’ve experienced this yourself—you don’t need advice or chit chat during these times. Knowing someone is there with you through it all somehow makes you feel better or lighter.

Taking time to stop your continual doing and connect with your deeper self helps you become a loving/healing presence in the world.

A Way to Achieve Spiritual Growth

In essence, meditation is a “not-doing” practice. The techniques of watching your breath, saying a mantra, or tuning into your chakras are simple ways to help you arrive at a place of “beingness.” The Cloud of Unknowing, a 14th-century anonymous Christian work, expresses the depth that can be achieved when not-doing:

Leave this everywhere and this something alone and choose this nowhere and this nothing. Even though your physical senses can find nothing there on which to feed themselves for they think you are doing nothing, continue doing this nothing, and do it for the love of God. . . . And who is it that calls this nothing? Surely it is our outer [self] and not our inner [self]. Our inner [self] calls it All, for it teaches [us] to know the essence of all things.

It’s important to realize there is more to life than continual activity. Underneath all this “doing” is a level of reality—a level of your being—that is loving and healing. Its action is spontaneous and perfect. This is what will bring you the joy and fulfillment you seek.  [from forthcoming book, Hidden Treasure: How to Break Free of Five Patterns that Hide Your True Self.]

BLUE DEER CENTER                                                 THE GARRISON INSTITUTE

Many years ago, in the broad valley of the Upper Delaware, near what is now called Margaretville, New York, several Mohawk and Oneida families made camp for summer hunting and gathering. It happened that a dispute over territory arose between the two groups, and soon afterwards the death of a warrior was discovered. Who was responsible? There were allegations and counter-allegations.

Our Mission

The Blue Deer Center is an important home for the teachings and practices of Heart -- those ancestral traditions of healing, ritual and retreat which restore connection to self, community and the Natural World.

Music makes you feel; it interacts with your emotions. Everyone has snapped their fingers to a lively beat, and relaxed to the soothing sound of the ocean. We all experience sound waves interacting with our emotions. Sound waves don't isolate our emotions and ignore all the rest of the waves in our bodies. Sound waves interact with all of the waves in close proximity. That is simply science!

Sound waves interact with our brain waves, taking them to alpha, beta, theta and delta ranges. How significant is this? When operating at certain brainwaves, our bodies produce healthy chemicals and repair our bodies. At other brain waves, one can quit smoking with greater ease. In short, controlling a population's brain waves shapes their behavior and influences their health. Focusing on this presents a whole new way of looking at our world.

Sound can help or harm us. We must be aware of the power of sound - for our own good. Sound can be used as a weapon and can slowly make a person sick. We are vulnerable, if sound is used to control us. This can be done without our knowledge, making us puppets.

How about our physical health? Does sound impact that? Researcher Sharry Edwards demonstrated that if she plays the frequency associated with the supplement niacin, then the listener's face flushes - without taking the pill. This makes sense as we ingest sounds in our ears and skin. Perhaps sound interferes with neurotransmitters or other signals in the body. Sound is invasive! With Sharry Edward's free software, a Fast Fourier Transformer breaks your voice into component pitches, letting you see how your voice's component frequencies change after taking a pill or eating. This strengthens the connection between what you eat and frequencies in our body's symphonies.

One might question why people haven't noticed that sound interacts subtly with matter. Sound waves are subtle energy, with tiny influences. We have to listen to the very same tone for a long time to notice its impact. In the mean time we hear different sounds that can cancel each other out. Think of running water on a rock. Of course the water runs off and the rock remains the same. The force of the water is miniscule compared to the strength of the rock. However after gazing at the Grand Canyon, it becomes clear that the pliable water flow does change the rock - slowly but surely the water carves mountains. And so it is with the tiny waves of sound. Slowly, but continually they shape and mold us, just like the relentless impact of ocean waves that grind small pebbles into sand.

The use of sacred and uplifting music impacts us all far more than we ever dreamed. Right along with good nutrition is good music, for a better tomorrow! We are what we eat, but equally we are what we listen to! Assuming that sound waves intermingle with waves in our body, how do we know what kind of music to listen to? Music with rhythms that match a healthy heart rate improves our well being, because our heart matches the beat. Studies show that rock and heavy metal music exposure can kill a plant, while classical music stimulates the plant's growth. Even more intriguing is that recorded sounds of nature improve plant growth more than classical music. Mother Nature's lullabies are the most healing sounds for plants.

Ancient people suspected this as they observed numeric patterns that repeatedly occur in nature, such as patterns found in a bee hive, a sea shell or a galaxy. They observed Mother Nature's own signature and converted these numbers to music. They also listened to the "sounds of the stars." Ancient music reflected numeric structures found in Heaven and Earth. Even their musical scales, upon which all music was played, incorporated nature's fingerprints.

Ancient music was controlled by the governments to consistently maintain these beneficial patterns. It is difficult to imagine this today with the great freedom that we enjoy to listen to anything that we want, but this was not so in ancient times. For example in ancient Egyptian art there were NO changes in any aspect of it during 3,000 years. Really? Today, art changes day by day. Long ago no creativity was tolerated. This practice can be observed in stone art that has survived many years, while the memorized or improvised music perished. However, ancient China's Department of Measurement regulated and policed the length of musical instruments to control the pitches the population heard. This is evidence that music was controlled, just like art. Creativity was not acceptable in art or music and in fact was considered dangerous, akin to our perception of terrorism today. Sages of many great civilizations warn of danger when new vibratory patterns (music) are heard by its citizens; they strived to preserve their blessed sonic patterns copying nature and the stars that uplifted and stabilized their citizens.

Some musicians today are replicating ancient techniques to tune to the vibratory patterns found in nature. The author has been utilizing these ancient practices in her music by incorporating Fibonacci, Solfeggio, flower frequencies and star tones and elements into her music. The quest to regain another level of health through sound has begun, and cannot be stopped.

Tom has provided something different this month.  He skyped into my meetup a few years ago and he has given permission for me to use his blogs for the magazine.  Then he just emailed to ask would you publish this article.  His has written a book Atlantis & Lemuria and this is continuing information he would like to share.  Thanks Tom!

There has been speculation about the very existence of the continents of Atlantis and Lemuria for literally hundreds of years. Yes, they did exist, but all records of their societies’ existence for over 50,000 years were destroyed, with the exception of the writings of Plato and legends.

The continent of Atlantis was located in the Atlantic Ocean, but most of it perished in an enormous natural disaster when a line of volcanoes, bisecting the continent on top of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, all erupted approximately 31,000 years ago. A few remnants remained—the Bahamas to the south, a few islands off the coast of Maine and New Hampshire, Bermuda and the Canary Islands. These islands were also wiped clean by the tsunamis that followed. There were seven other islands slightly to the west of the middle of the Atlantic Ocean that I’ll cover below.

Before the natural disaster, the continent of Atlantis was in the shape of a parallelogram. To the east, Atlantis came within 30 miles (48 kilometers) of the African Coast, then named the Land of OZ. To the west it ran parallel approximately 100 miles (160 kilometers) off the North American coastline.

Please keep in mind these latitudes and longitudes act as BOUNDARIES for the continent. The Atlantean Continent was contained within these boundaries.

Northern edge: Latitude 47° N
Southern edge: Latitude 30° N
Southern tip:     Latitude 26° N, 18° W. Longitude
Western edge: 75° - 80° W. Longitude
Eastern edge:    17°-18° W. Longitude

You can go to and place your cursor in the Atlantic and in the right hand lower corner the longitudes and latitudes will be displayed. Just move your cursor to the above coordinates to see Atlantis’ location. There are buttons at the top to zoom out or in as needed.

The Atlantean Continent was about 10% larger than present-day Australia. Since the shape of the Atlantean Continent was a parallelogram, let’s take the 47° North Latitude first. If you were to draw a line across the Atlantic Ocean, starting a little under the southern coast of Newfoundland to where it intersects 17° West Longitude, that’s as far to the east the continent extended. Then, if you were to draw a line across the Atlantic at 30° North Latitude when it intersects 18° West Longitude, you have three sides of the parallelogram.

Where Latitude 47° North intersects 75° West Longitude this gives you the western point for the northern edge of the continent. Draw a line down parallel to the North American Continent curving along the Florida coast until it meets 26° latitude. That is the tail of the Atlantean Continent, encompassing what we know as the Bahama Islands today. The tail began at the 30° North Latitude at approximately 77° West Longitude.

When the Atlantean Continent sank, it displaced an enormous amount of water, resulting in all of the oceans of the world rising 160 feet (49 meters) destroying every single city, town, and village worldwide. Most of the records of the world were lost at that moment in history.

The seven other islands previously mentioned included Poseidia, round in shape and about the size of Cuba, and located on a line to the east, slightly above present day Boston. Aryan, a little larger than the island of Hispaniola was 375 miles (603 km) to the south. Below Aryan, there were five other islands—one so small that some accounts do not list it, but it was inhabited. Over a long period of time Poseidia was inhabited by the Law of One people and Aryan and its island group by the Sons of Belial. Their dislike for each other reached a boiling point 12,500 years ago and they destroyed themselves in a horrific war, where one-and-one-half million people died the first day. The islands sank into the Atlantic, and the oceans of the world rose 41 feet (12.5 meters). This was when the story of Noah and the Ark actually took place.

The continent of Mu, or Lemuria as it was also called, was in the shape of a potato and about 12% larger than present day Australia. Before the sinking of the Atlantean Continent it was connected to what is now Japan, but the rising seas broke the connection. It came within about 100 miles of present day Hawaii, and for thousands of years the Lemurians vacationed there, imprinting the islands with their energy.

Here are the longitudes and latitudes for the continent of Mu or Lemuria.

Northern edge: Latitude 37°- 38° N
Southern edge: Latitude 14.5° N
Southern Tip: Latitude 12.5° N, 130° E. Longitude
Western edge: 135° - 145° E. Longitude
Eastern edge:    180°-165° W. Longitude

The northern edge of the continent varied between 37° and 38° Latitude North until it intersected with 135° East Longitude and turned down, coming close to Hawaii. Then you have the southern edge of the Mu continent at 14.5° intersecting with 180° West Longitude.

The northern edge of Mu at around 38° Latitude North intersected the western edge at around 145° Longitude to form the western edge and drawing a line down to 14.5° Latitude forming the western edge of the continent.

Mu also had a short tail in the middle of the continent, extending down to 12.5° Latitude North, 130° East Longitude.

The continent of Mu was an idyllic place to live for thousands of years. That ended approximately 7,500 years ago when the seven countries not only destroyed themselves with hydrogen type bombs, but also broke apart the continent. And again, millions of people perished all over the world when the oceans rose 170 feet (52 meters). Additionally, it destroyed all the records kept in those cities and towns.

Is it any wonder that people have doubted these continents’ existence, when virtually all the records of their existence no longer exist?

Lastly, I’ve been told to tell you that we will never destroy ourselves again; therefore we can learn the history of these two continents without fear of repeating ourselves.

Hold On To Your Dream
Author Unknown

There's a voice that calls to some of us
From somewhere deep inside
A voice that will not give us peace,
Until at least we've tried
To catch that bright elusive star,
Though foolish it may seem
To those not driven as we are
To hold on to a dream.

It's not just thoughts of fame or wealth
That keep us hanging on
When others would have given up,
When all but hope is gone.
When sometimes even hope grows dim
And casts its faintest beam,
We wonder if it's worth it all

To hold on to a dream.
And then that voice inside of us
That others cannot know
Tells us that our chance will come,
That we must not let go.
If we can only persevere
Someday our star till gleam!
And they'll know why we had to try
To hold on to our dream.

Today’s lesson invokes the Law of Cause and Effect, and is actually quite simple to understand, although difficult for most of us to put into practice.

Many of us struggle trying to “get what we want,” but to obtain your desires easily and effortlessly, you must first believe that you have what you want…and such an abundance of it, that you are able to give what you want, away to others.

For example, if you want peace in your life, you must first learn engage with everything and everyone in a peaceful manner.

We remain stuck exactly where we are, when we continue to entertain limited rational minded ideas such as:

“I will feel peaceful or happy once I am finished with this project,”

“I will have peace once I know the outcome of this situation,”

“I will have peace once I make it to retirement.”

We allow ourselves to believe that peace or happiness is always somewhere in the future, and at the moment is not obtainable.  This type of belief system defies every aspect of the Law of Cause and Effect, and most certainly the Law of Attraction.

These type of belief patterns are the exact fuel Rational Mind uses to prompt you into unpleasant tasks requiring forced action. Rational Mind allows you to believe that, “If I DO this, I will have that.”  We believe that we must first DO something, so we may have the peace that we want sometime in the near to distant future.

When Rational Mind pokes and prods us to take actions that feel unpleasant, this is most certainly forced action, not inspired action.  We attempt to motivate ourselves with goal oriented ideas to support the goal such as, “no pain, no gain.”

For this reason, many of goals requiring forced action fall victim to procrastination, because actually engaging with any forced action immediately creates an experience of inner conflict. You really don’t want to engage with the task, but you want peace…however not engaging with an unpleasant task actually feels more peaceful.  Can you see the cycle?

Then, the emotional realm shows up. Inner Dialogue shifts into becoming the Inner Critic, and you become subject to feeling guilty, lazy, or perhaps incapable, and here comes the anxiety or depression.

How to move the Law of Cause and Effect through Inspired Action

If you seek Inner Peace, you must become that Peace. You must become aware of the inner peace within you, invoke it, engage with it, honor it, and allow it to work through you.  you must BE peaceful in all that you do.

Walk slowly and with peaceful intention.  Do not rush around.
Speak only kind and peaceful words.
Drive peacefully.  No road rage!
Eat peacefully.  Do not read texts and emails, or work during meals.
Dress yourself peacefully.
Smile at everyone you meet.

Applying any one of the above mentioned practices will begin to shift your day-to-day living, so that you are able to experience peace in all that you do instead of peace being a goal that might be reached in the future.

May peace become the guide for all of your actions.

The 6th Sense:  Simply Processing Psychic-Medium Information

There have been great strides to better understand information received through intuition, aka psychic-mediumship, aka the 6th sense. These strides have been in the areas of physics (understanding energy) and psi-phenomena (understanding the relationship of our mind and consciousness). However, people hang on to "what's working for them" even though a new truth may set them free.

In a recent article published in The New Yorker magazine, "Why Facts Don't Change Our Minds" it discusses the innate nature humans have to stick with what they know despite new facts uncovered or new understandings developed. The researchers have concluded that people will maintain their social strengths versus stepping out of their personal territory for embrace a new idea or fact.

We can explore this in regards to the 6th sense and psychic-medium information. Neuroscience tells us that the brain handles over 4 billion bits of information but only processes 2,000 bits in our waking state. The energies and various states of mind have been studied and measured while people are in deep meditative states and while experiencing alternate states of consciousness.  There’s more “out there” and the brain has the ability to sense those billion bits of “other reality” information.

This ability is the 6th sense. The sciences and new understandings of energies and consciousness have made it a very real part of our existence…actually bringing back to ourselves a sense that our ancestors knew and regularly used.

We call that psychic-icity…a natural function of bits of information and the power of the brain to fill in the blanks of a physical-only environment. Psychic-icities are the experiences through the quality of being connected to our selves. Whether through thought, the senses, or in the events of our everyday lives, we have the power to feel the emotions of others (empathy), see flashes of images or visions, hear that inner voice, or “just know” things—and it’s all designed in our physical make-up.

That’s what the new information and discoveries tell us. Psychic-icity is a brain thing…not a religious thing…a magical thing…or a mysterious thing. We can take out what we thought we knew based on…

•             Fears of the unknown (the need for protection, demons, portals)

•             Myths to explain events (born with “the gift,” can’t read for this or that reason)

•             New age razz-ma-tazz (higher vibrational people, tools and rules)

…and incorporate into our daily lives the natural connection to our Self and our Selves.

Psychic-medium information is a function of receiving and understanding. In this age of information, it can be that simple.

About the authors: Susan Fiandach and Connie Wake are professional psychic-mediums, teachers of psychic-medium studies and co-authors of “Everyday Conversations: The Key to the Contemporary Medium – Unlocking the Myths” and “The Student Guide to the Daily Medium – Unlocking Your 6th Sense.” They can be contacted through The Purple Door, 3259 Winton Rd South, Rochester NY. 585-427-8110.

As a Mineral Dealer, I often have people come to my booth with a laundry list of crystals that they think will fix their problems. Many people aren’t sure how to properly choose crystals so I’d like to tell you what I do and how they really choose us.

I’ve learned over the years that the Crystals have the power to pick the perfect holder only if they’re willing to listen.  The Crystals I need resonate with me when I see them.  I fall in love with the color and the crystals’ formation.  I won’t be able to stop thinking about them.  The other day I was at a man’s house buying some new material and I came across three beautiful Topaz crystals from Brazil.  I immediately knew I had to take them home.  I didn’t know why but I was absolutely in love and there was no doubt in my mind they were going home with me.  I bought all three pieces but there was only one that really spoke to me.

When I have Crystals that call to me like this I like to do a few things when I bring them home to make a good connection with them. First, I like to purify them with sage or incense. This is a personal experience and while I prefer sage and incense, I believe everyone should use their own method.

Next, I like to meditate with them and feel their energy. I take “my” crystal from the Topaz set and sit down to reflect. I can feel the vibration of anything that calls to me with such power. As my hands start to vibrate, my body starts to relax, my third eye starts to buzz and my crown instantly opens.  I sit there and just enjoy this feeling, resonating with my new buddy.

Lastly, I like to reference my favorite spiritual books for guidance about what I experienced during meditation. I recommend, “Love is in the Earth” by Melody to go to for this.  On this particular day, when I finished meditation, I reached for this book to help me. In it Melody says, “The energy of the Topaz acts through the laws of attraction and manifestation”.  I was so shocked I just about fell over!  I’ve read at least five books dealing with the law of attraction this past year. Learning to open myself to the laws of abundance has been a huge focus in my life recently. Melody’s words confirmed that I had indeed picked the perfect crystal.  The true way to choose crystals was right in front of me all along.

While buying guides and crystal explanation books have their place, had I looked up manifestation beforehand or chose a crystal based on someone else’s philosophy, I might have bought the wrong one.  This Crystal came into my life when I needed it and I’m sure the same will happen for you, too. Choosing the right Crystal is about listening to our intuition and trusting when our gut says, “that’s the one”.  Most importantly have fun with it!  I hope this helps you in your journey to find your perfect crystal.

A little background about me -

In November 2003, the universe sent me a telepathic message that I needed to start working with Crystals.  Like anything new and different I responded with a baffled look on my face and a few incredulous words.  I had seen people buying Crystals and thought to myself at the time, who spends that kind of money on a rock? However, this was one of those moments where the message was so clear I couldn’t help but listen.  I went to the local Crystal shop and picked out a few Crystals that really seemed to speak to me.  When I got home from the shop, I asked the universe what to do next.  I got on my computer and started looking up information on Crystals.  There was a world out there that I never knew existed before.  I started by carrying crystals in my pockets, well, the small ones at least.  I continued to work with Crystals on my own and decided to further my studies at the Crystal Alchemy Academy in Canada for Crystal healing where I learned how to do energy work with different layouts and building grids.

Crystals have always been my main draw, my conduit for my spiritual process.  They’ve led me into other forms of Energy work, like becoming a Reiki Master, yet I always come back to Crystals, the medium that I connect with most.  They have really been by my side, a best friend you could call them throughout my journey.  In 2014, I opened Sonic Evolution,  an online and traveling mineral shop, where I set up at mineral shows all over the country. I feel truly blessed as a Mineral Dealer to do what I love and help connect people with the Crystals that truly call to them.

About Eric: I am located in the local Rochester area. We've been a traveling Gem, Mineral and Jewelry dealer for the past four years . Collecting minerals and making jewelry for over thirteen. At the end of 2015 I decided to invest my time and energy into my Etsy shop.  I have the best customers and clients a business could ask for. I carry fine gem and minerals as well as many high vibrational stones.

We walk into our oceans where it is shallow, and swim out great distances without ever getting tired or cold. No one here ever drowns. This is unheard of and unimaginable. We are all great swimmers, and our oceans and lakes support us so that we stay on top of the water.

Our water has consciousness, and talks to us while we are immersed in it. Yes, our water talks. When we swim, our water becomes part of our body, and we are one body, one ocean, swimming along the currents and through the waves. We merge ourselves completely with the water's consciousness, and our swim is a trip in consciousness itself. It is so much more than what you experience in your surface lakes and oceans, where the consciousness of your water has become so densified and polluted that it has lost its voice and vitality and life force. It weakly calls out to you, but you don't hear it. It calls out to you for help. It calls out to you to stop polluting it, to stop bombarding it with ELF sound waves, to stop the whaling ships and underwater experiments, and oil spills, and submarines, and cruise ships from destroying and poisoning its life force. But alas, it rests on deaf ears. For the children of Earth are still deaf to the destruction they are causing the Earth. It's only the greedy politicians who know what they are doing, and they do it purposely to destroy the Earth for their own personal gain, in the name of bolstering the economy. Everything is for the economy, and nothing for the Earth or its people. Families don't count anymore, only the state of the economy counts. You never hear about the "state of the family" on the news, it's always the "state of the economy" you hear about. Well, when there are no longer any families alive, there won't be an economy either.

So help yourself by helping your Earth. It's only through your returning your surface oceans and lands to their pristine state that you will return to a perfect economy where everyone lives in abundance and perfect health.

The Queen’s Chronicles: WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS

It is raining. Pouring. Again! For weeks now it has rained just about every day. The entire Northeast is inundated with more rain than we can possibly deal with.

In the best of times, precipitation is seen as beneficent, raining down life-sustaining liquids for our benefit. And then we are grateful, or ought to be.

But there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. We are nearly drowning in the stuff. Saturated, soaked, sogged. Completely waterlogged. Rivers rushing down city streets, the drains overflowing. Towns, fields and highways flooded. Dams, bridges, houses and lives swept irrevocably away. And the predicted storms aren’t over yet.

People have long believed that bad weather is some kind of vengeful divine retribution. Punishment for our earthly misbehavior. Certainly in the face of extreme hardship, this is a tempting response, based, perhaps, on guilt. But, of course, weather is weather, a neutral force. Our perception of whether it is good or bad is based solely and myopically on our own immediate inconvenience.

But maybe this rain is not aimed at us. Maybe Mother Earth is engaged in a deep purification ritual, a much needed purging of Her soiled body and profound pain. Picture Her, like any rape victim standing under a pounding shower for hours, days and weeks, trying to wash away the dirt and degradation that we have heaped upon Her so mercilessly.

Or maybe She is weeping, sobbing, down pouring tears of sad disappointment in us, Her errant, arrogant offspring, so rude and disrespectful. After all, just look at what we gave the Poor Old Dear for Mother’s Day in gratitude for all of Her great gifts to us: greenhouse gases, radiation, drilling, missile tests, oil spills and chemical trails.

Or this is a watery warning, perhaps. A reminder to appreciate the present and prepare for the future. To re-enforce our roofs, buy Wellington boots and build a safe, waterproof ark where we can collect, preserve and protect, two by two, all of our best intentions and human qualities: hope and love, charity and understanding, forgiveness and peace, compassion and reverence for all life.

Best blessings for keeping dry,

Joy and Purpose

Dear Children

There is nothing more important than your joy and fulfillment, living in your purpose.

For the you can show so much more of yourself with others. Without purpose you flounder in your own doubts, looking for your own Light.

It is a time to open your wings and not cower in the shadows. It is time to take flight and embrace your purposeful journey to your opening, awakening heart full of wisdom and enlightenment. Travel to your heart of hearts each day to receive a message from your soul to encourage your day of purposeful, loving action.

You are to walk the earth united and true to self unencumbered by thoughts of others, that might hold you back.

Reach for the stars and universe will allow you to shine by opening gateways you have never imagined possible before.

Many Blessings

In this episode of the Honest-To-God series that was down-stepped from The Akashic Records, Aingeal Rose & Ahonu discuss the rate and pace of change over time and manifesting over multiple lifetimes.

Manifesting over multiple lifetimes was raised along with how to become more mindful and miracle-minded while in this time of extremely potent energies, and how we create our future through past and present thoughts.

Donald Trump's inauguration came into the discussion along with the women's rights marches all over the world and how all of this was connected to time and manifesting outcomes.

In the second half of the show, authentic business, new age manufacturing, and the new business mindset was the focus.

Aingeal Rose outlined how "this is the time for your greatest manifestations". They talked about the effects of judgment and negative thinking, and about how confusion about what was happening with time was leading to suicide for many people all over the world.

They discussed how to tell the universe what we really want, and how we are in a cause and effect universe, and they concluded with the advice of not falling into taking sides, accusations and blame. Ask yourself, "Why would you want to be a participant in creating a negative reality?"
